5 RIFLES have now deployed to Afghanistan on a seven month tour of duty. Casualties are sadly part of the job (the 3 RIFLES Battlegroup lost 30 soldiers and many more seriously injured).
The bottom line is that our soldiers risk their lives and bodies on our behalf and we need to do everything we can to support them and In the short term the 5 RIFLES Wristband Appeal is used to provide much needed immediate support and assistance for the families, girlfriends and boyfriends of the dead and wounded in those devastating first hours and days after a tragedy. In the medium and long term excess funds are used by the Rifles Regimental Trust to fund meaningful projects for the wounded and their families. You can help by:
